Andrew Gregory (Charleston, SC)

Andrew Gregory is a lifelong resident of South Carolina; he is originally from Boiling Springs, SC and went on to pursue a degree from the University of South Carolina. After graduating in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Mr. Gregory accepted the band director position at Palmetto Scholars Academy in Charleston, SC. In his first year, the PSA Middle School band and the PSA High School Band earned Superior ratings at concert assessments. Since 2014, Mr. Gregory has been teaching private lessons on the horn as well as the trumpet to students ranging in age from 12 to 65, and he especially loves teaching beginners. In addition to private lessons, he has led masterclasses and  small ensemble rehearsals with multiple schools in Columbia.

While enrolled at South Carolina, Mr. Gregory was an active performer with the concert bands at USC and spent two semester performing with the top group, The University of South Carolina Wind Ensemble. In addition to college coursework and performances, Mr. Gregory spent four seasons performing with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, OH. Between 2012 and 2015, the Bluecoats placed in the top 6 groups in the world all four years; with two of those years resulting in a top three placement.

Mr. Gregory is also active in WGI, DCI, and HS visual design. In addition to judging in SC, Mr. Gregory has begun writing drill for schools in NC.
